Group storms National Assembly over the suspension of Marafa, asks Saraki to resign.

A group of protesters stormed the National Assembly on Tuesday, 23 February over the planned suspension of the senator representing Zamfara central senatorial district,Senator kabir Marafa.

The group named, Open Society Coalition also demanded the instantaneous need for the Senate president to resign in order to focus on his trial at the code of conduct tribunal (CCT).

The group was also against the suspension of senator Marafa.
The group held banners reading “suspend saraki not Marafa” “Democracy survives inclusive not in suspending people of different opinion” among others.

It could be recalled that Marafa was summoned by the committee of the house on Ethics, privileges and public relations but he fails to appear.
He was alleged of making comments and publications in a National dailies that defamed the reputation of the National Assembly.
