Thirteen Nigerians believed to be on their way to Libya to join the deadly militant group, Islamic state of Iraq and Syria (ISIS),have been arrested by the Nigerian police in Kano.
ISIS,a militant group that have been fighting for the creation of an Islamic caliphate in some parts of Iraq and Syria.
It was reported that,the kano state governor,Abdullahi Umar Ganduje,commended the police for a job well done and also tasked them to continue on the same note of effective policing the state.
He further described the suspects as a threat to their country of destination and threats also to neighboring countries like Libya and Nigeria inclusive.
Also,disclosing the details of the arrested suspects, Kano state police commissioner, Alhaji Muhammad Musa Katsina,said the 13 Nigerians were arrested in possession of fake traveling passport to Libya.
