Hey guys,, thank you for following so far,, we are almost at the end of my journey as a fresher. I hope you enjoy today’s episode. ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†.

Episode 8.

There are 2 sentences that annoy me most in Oau.
1- Keep space for me o.
2- Help me write my name and matric no O.
These sentences have caused me so much hassle, OAU students can keep space anywhere enh, .
In class, you see an empty seat, you go there only for them to tell you “someone is there”.,, this is not fair,, I came early to class and I don’t get a seat but someone who comes late will sit. Girls are the major culprits. This happened to me a couple of times until I had had enough, I got to class that fateful day, sighted an empty seat and wanted to sit, only for one girl to tell me “someone is there”
Me- where is the someone? Did they step out or they are not around?
“how’s that your business, someone is sha there”, She said.
At this point I was angry enough to bite her head off,, ” this is corruption, why are you keeping seat for someone who is not here while I, who is here, will stand,, this is how it starts, when someone like you gets elected to a public office, nepotism would be the order of the day. Anhanh, it’s unfair”.
And she was looking at me like I had gone crazy. Luckily, my outburst touched her and she allowed me to sit.
2- Help me write my matric number o..
This is doubly annoying. In courses where attendance is demanded. For example, that 8:am class on Tuesdays and Thursdays that every fresher hates, where attendance is part of your result (at least that’s what they say,, but really, does a lecturer have time to sit and cross-check names of students to see if they were in class, especially when the population of the class is over 600?). So therefore, nobody wanted to miss the attendance, even those who don’t come to class, they send their friends to write their names. One day like that in class, the attendance sheet got to a girl beside me, I saw her bring out a sheet of paper with jottings all over it, looking closely it turned out to be names and matric no,, the list was so long, she just kept writing. Unable to bear it,, “Sister kilode, why are you writing names for people that did not come to class? People that came to class, are they fools, u come abduct attendance list, dey write since,,, will you write their names for them in the book of life too? If you hold a public office bayen,, that’s how you will be doing, changing records, stealing money.. Mtcheww “.. That’s how I snatched the list from her,, she wanted to protest but I said ” if you say anything there, I will tell the lecturer. “.
Even in banks, they will keep space, in eateries sef,, another incident that cracked me up was in the library Toilet,, I entered and was about to go into the toilet when someone said,
“somebody is before you o. ”
You should have seen my face ๐Ÿ˜” ๐Ÿ˜”,, “anhanh,, where is the person?”
“She went to get tissue ”
I just hissed and entered the toilet.
Common,, this one will keep seat on her wedding day..
A lot of fights break out over this ‘space’ matter, in classes, ATM machines, at the taps, etc.
Can we call it ‘THE SPACE SYNDROME’ .?

To be cont’d.
