On Monday ,13 February 2017, the association of campus journalists, OAU chapter under the leadership of Olanrewaju Oyedeji A.K.A Larrysam organized a debate for the aspirants at all levels of the CEC election that is to hold on 16 February 2017.
The debate witnessed massive turn out as the Oduduwa Hall was filled to the brim.
The aspirants tackled several questions in relation to the post/office they are vying for. The debate which was scheduled to start by 12:00pm couldn’t start at the time but started few minutes to 2.
Amidst the questions answered by the presidential candidates was the issue of scrapping of the popular scientific maximum shishi(SMS) And also the difference between traditional and modern unionism which was tackled intellectually by the candidates.
Also, a question from one of the members of the press to the aspirants vying for the post of vice-presidency was that “they should state the reasons part 1 students aren’t allowed to vote”. This question was also answered by the aspirants excellently.
As some aspirants were booed by the audience, the excellent ones were cheered. The debate was graded by the members of the electoral commission, led by Fadele Olushola Aka Showbaba.
